I dont remember what type aluminum it was. I have seen several threads on the proper aluminum to match the airstream exterior but i didn't do that for this application. i went to a local metal dealer and picked an aluminum with the thickness that i thought would work well. not too flimsey and not too stiff.

as for storage behind the toilet, there isn't much room but i also dont store anything in there. i keep a rubbermaid tub in the back of the tow vehicle with my hoses, electrical, etc. i would imagine you could store some stuff there if you wanted to.

for the turning effect it was much easier than i thought. i drew a 1-1/2" grid in pencil and then on the end of a drill had a 3" scotch brite pad. just put the pad in the middle of each grid point and it takes about 10 seconds per circle. i think about an hour or so to do the skirt.

..awesome remod..I'm very impressed how the aluminum turning, upholstery fabric, even the shower curtain, all maintains that wonderful circle motif!!!....are you a designer in 'real life'?...if not, you have as much or more talent and vision than many who earn a living that way...

..congratulations and many happy trips!..

Completely beautiful renovation. Lots of great ideas to "borrow" here.

Can you tell me how you got the tub unit out the door of your trailer? I can't seem to get mine out no matter how I turn it. Did you have to cut it first?

it will come out of the door if you turn it on its side and rotate it out of the door...it isn't easy but it definitely will go thru. i dont remember exactly how it is turned but i know it took me a little while to get it turned just right.

Fabulous job, I would like to paint my bathroom tub and bench, did you brush the epoxy paint on the tub? Or spray it when it was removed from the camper? Id rather not completely remove the tub from the camper since its in great condition, just want to paint it.
