Exclamation Wires to water heater.

I need the schematics its not in my book. which wires do i hook up to my hot water heater. I just bought this camper, and the gas part is hooked up but the electric, was left with just the wires coming out of the box. could someone help me. My dad is coming over and he is an electrician, IBEW but colors would be great.and is there anything we should know going in, thanks again. john b
this book does tell me the colors for the DC but i only want to use the 110 stuff, i believe. also do i have to have a switch if im running electrical from outside?

Your electrician dad will be able to decipher the 110 wiring for the heater element. Standard black, white and green. maybe a bare ground. I just put a male plug on the 110 on mine and I plug it in to the campground power seperatly from the main trailer plug. I use a little plug in GFI in the circut. I can also plug it into the outside outlet on the Airstream if there is no seperate 110 plug at the campground, but there usually is. It looked like a lot of trouble to wire the 110 through the trailer. On mine there is a dual swithch and a indicator light that I put into the bathroom in place of the old switch, so I can turn the electric element on and off from inside if it is plugged in.

Airstreams do not use "hot water heaters".

But...............they do use "cold water heaters".

Not totally true Andy. Water heaters also heat warm water. But aren't we getting off topic?
I'm pretty sure your Dad can figure it out with his background.

But "warm" is relative and subject to opinions.
