Water pump woes, AGAIN

Well, Our 2nd water pump has begun filling the fresh water tank.

I took apart the 1st one and checked the check valve. Didn't help. replaced it Oct 2016 with a new one. Went to factory in May 17 and they reimbursed me for the cost but not labor. A good deal.

Now Jan 18, it began again after filling the tank in case the park's water froze. Then it started filling the tank again. This is after another AS in the park, a 2017 30 Bunk had the same issue.

Well, I tried flushing the valve multiple times. No luck. I didn't want to change the pump again. So I installed a Shark Bite check valve in line and tested. Seems to be fine. Tanks level staying the same.

My buddy with the 30 Bunk is not so lucky. He doesn't have enough room in his line to install the 2 1/2" check valve.

What's with these Shurflow pumps? The internal check valve design is not holding up IMHO.

Quick question, does this happen while connected to city water???
I have several AS that will fill/overfill the fresh water tank while connected to city water AND the water pump switch on. It is kinda convenient when you want to dry camp after being connected to city water, I just turn on the pump and a couple hours later the fresh tank is full!

Yep, it happens when connected to city water and with the pump off. I’ve never had the pump on when connected to city water, except when trying to flush the check valve to have it stop filling the fresh water tank.

Call Shurflo and they'll tell you how to make an adjustment and fix it. It happened to our pump so I called them and they were great.

Thanks, Ill try that. But the Shark Bite check valve seems to have stopped it for now.

May be the backflow valve protecting the fresh water tank from the black water flush system. Found behind the sink area. A plastic valve prone to cracking.

Not sure what pump you have, the OEM one? I had pump issues and my Airstream dealer tech said the OEM pump was junk and to replace it with this one

No problems since.
