Water Pump will not turn on

After I replaced the fresh water filter the pump will no longer run.
I have 12 VDC to the motor.
I have water to the pump.
The book refers to a micro swith that is internal, could that be preventing the pump from starting?
The pump was running fine before I changed the main filter.
The fresh water tank was empty the last time the pump ran. It ran for a few seconds, enough to determine that there was no water, then I turned it off, changed the filter and it will not restart.
Any suggestions?
Joe

One obvious observation:
Make sure you did not inadvertently disconnect one of the leads.

One not so obvious observation:
Turn it on and give it a good whack with a mallet or something. Really. If it works, the brushes are going bad. Of course, this assumes you have a pump motor with brushes.

I will answer my own post.
The new water filter was turned off. The pump was simply shutting down like it is supposed to when the water pressure limit is reached.
The new water filter was not complete. It could not be turned from the off to the on position.
Back to Lowes.
