water pump not working

Just purchased a 75 Argosy 24. Finally got the lights working, thanks to the help of this forum, many thanks. I cannot get the pump to do anything. Is there a switch that needs to be turned on? Also, cannot get the vent fan to come on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Started restoring this two weeks ago, and it is coming along nicely. My first Argosy. Thanks

My 75 Trade Wind has a water pump switch located on the control panel which is inside the over the stove cabinet. Yours will have a switch also, but I am not sure where it is located.

The vent fan should be controlled by a switch that is located in the vent area. See if you have 12 volts passing through the switch when the vent is fully opened.

I installed a new power converter and have 12 volts on the fuse panel but no 12v in the control panel. According to the service manual this wire (blue) is the one for the fan and control panel only. I would hope they didn't put a connector under the interior skin but you just never know.

water pump not working

Greetings Sbcoyle!

Welcome to the Forums and the world of Vintage Argosy ownership!

If your Argosy 24's wiring is similar to my '78 Minuet, you may find that you have a blown fuse as the water pump and range exhuast vent fan are on the same circuit. You may also find a pinched wire in the vicinityof the exhaust vent fan as this was the culprit of periodic blown fuses in my Minuet just after purchase.

Good luck with your investigation!

Kevin
