Question Water pump

Restoring a 1977 airstream 31ft. The water pump was missing so we put in a new one. Just filled the water tank and nothing happened. Do we need a fuse somewhere? Does it need to be primed? Any help will be great.

HI , the pump does not need to be primed , do you have power at the pump , do you have the switch for the pump on ? Good luck

like Kipper just posted, the pump needs no priming and you do need power!!! my question would be. could there be a broken water line some where? that would effect the vacume that's needed to have the pump draw water from your fresh water tank. also you need to purge the air from your system. good luck. also you could try hooking up to your house water supply with a garden hose to find any leaks. I just rebuilt my water supply because of frozen pipes and broken pump.
