Water heater verdict ?
hi there;
this vacation season, I've discovered water beside the toilet... After dismounting it and checking , the water seems to come from the water heater itself. No leak on the different valves and junctions so I've decided to dismounted it completly... Never easy when it's vintage screws....
What a lot of stone sand inside and rust past on the pilot arm.
No great hole in the aluminum tank but all was wet in the box, in the low side of the box ( orange and not yellow when dry on the photo).
The tank is a bit oxydized but is it possible that it is the place where the leak comes by porosity ?
thank you to tell me what you think ?
bruno.

Maybe it's time for a new water heater.

Usually when the tank starts to leak, it is time for a new water heater.
A suggestion would be to find a comparable Euro water heater, and put it in the case for the old one. That way it will still look American, but you will be able to get parts easily for it if needed.

I've replaced the toilet with an "Euro" Thetford" aquamagic and all the screws diameters and tube were not in american sizes... What a work and waste of time to convert all...
I wonder if I 'ld be not in the same situation with an "euro" water heater....
Thank you .
Bruno.

If you can get a hold of an American one it might be easier.. I still have family in England, when I went over this past spring and helped my Mum with her plumbing it was a little different....
Talk to Inland RV don't know what the shipping would be or, Vintagetrailer.com or Ebay...
