O.K. Now for the next installment in our documentation of work done on our trailer. I pulled our old water heater. Here is the link…

Below is the BAD BOY that has to go.

Looks pretty good buttercup...

The white stuff can be a combo of White mold as well as aluminum corrosion from the casing of the old heater.

If you have not already done so - I would strongly recommend that you sand that would to a clean surface and then give that area a good coat of water repelant mildew resistant polyurethane varnish. There is evidence of black mold there - and although dormant now if you get any moisture it will grow and eat away at the wood - this is the stuff that does the dry rot damage - slowly unsuspecting death to the wood. A marine varnish application would be best - not sure what products you have in US but by the sounds of this forum you have tones to choose from and reasonable too. Save the old door! there is nothing worse than someone going to all the trouble of changing their water heater to have a "White" SOB door on the side of their A/S. Save that little grill too - Peter had to use that in order to modify as the new ones did not come with that little grill.

What is a "Blog" - is it just a fancy word for a website one is providing info on?? are there templates for a website you can add to or do they all have to be designed by someone - I have Adobe Go Live but have not a clue how to use it - but really want to make up my own little URL to sell our gargantuan number of airstream parts we will have - anything more than 3 things laying around will drive me nuts for sure....

Have really enjoyed your "Blog" - why I had an Aunt named Gladdys Blog....

GT6921:

Blogs are ready made website templates where you can add and edit posts, log style (log in weblog, 'blog for short), directly in your browser. Quick and very simple, as easy as posting to this forum. Some people think they are the second coming of the tech revolution, but I just see it as a quick way to get a website up and running. Here are my two:

One for Camping: bigsleep.blogspot.com

One for my rental property: wayburn.blogspot.com

The last one took me about 30 minutes, from scratch to get up and running in the form you see there.

To get one of these, and from what I have seen of your Airstream adventures, I think you should, go to blogger.com and set up a free account. Then go to flickr.com and set up another free account to host your picturs. And let us know about it!

John

ooooowwwwww this sounds like fun - and just one more thing to distract me from getting my Wedding Planners done - you know that little job on the side that pays for all our adventures

I will check it out sometime today - does it matter if you are Mac or PC??

I love to take pictures and share everything with anyone who might be remotely interested In just two years I have taken over 10000 pictures with my cheapy Kodak - that amounts to 14 pictures everysingle day without fail - what I could do with pictures on the web!!! Do people by scenery and nature pics??

GT6921,

You can go here: http://www.blogger.com/start

And read all about it.

There are others. This is the first one I thought of.
