We have a propane only DSI water heater that has started cycling on/off constantly (even with no water being used). Water is plenty hot, and there is more than enough to shower. Plenty of propane in the tanks, all other appliances run well so I am assuming pressure is ok.
Any ideas what causes this and how to fix?

It's hard to say without being there, but start with checking and cleaning the LP supply lines to the burner, the burner itself and the burner orifice. Any blockage there could be the cause. Of course, there is always the igniter board. They bite the dust on a regular basis and need replacing. If it is the board (any equipped RV shop can test it for you) you should replace it with a Dinosaur Electronics board. 3 year warranty and the boards are built so space program specs (without the government contract prices ).
Also, check your ECO and t/stat. The 12VDC runs thru them in a circuit loop and one of them might be bad as well, causing your cycling problem.

Well we had another rain filled weekend here in New England...so I had the time to look at the water heater. Cleaned out the tube, checked all the clearances, and fired it up. Everything looks fine, did not cycle like it was before...maybe I fixed it?!
Had a good trip last weekend but still had water heater trouble. It appears that the terminal on the "blue box" at the bottom of the Atwood heater (see pic) is loose and may be on the way out. I stipped back the red wire from the ECO and clamped a new terminal plug on there, and that seems fine. When I jiggle the terminal on the blue block it runs better, doesn't sputter. So I believe it is the blue box and not the wire.
What is the blue box and where do I get one?

Those are the solenoids (2 of them in redundant series connection for safety) that open and close the gas valve above them. You probably need to replace the entire gas valve as I haven't seen the solenoids available separately lately.
Any good RV parts place should have them. If you have trouble finding one, PM me and I'll get it for you.
There are several different designs from a few manufacturers out there. I would call CW (if that is where you will buy it) and give them the model # of your heater and ask them if it will fit properly. You can sometimes shoe-horn them in, but I don't do this when working with LP gas! You really want the OEM part that fits your heater.

I couldn't agree more-but where do I get an OEM Atwood valve?
The heater is model # G6A-6E DIS, I beleive original-1989.
