Water heater question

two questions first is how can Ebay sell these heaters for half the price. Also can someone help me understand the difference between this heater and a DSI heater.

eBay Motors: ATWOOD 6 GAL AUTO-RELIGHT PILOT RV WATER HEATER G6A-7P (item 150209323716 end time Feb-02-08 10:39:36 PST)

I also assume that a pilot heater is the one you have to light each time.

I really want to limit the amount of things that are dependent on electricity in my camper and but like the idea of if the pilot goes out I dont have to run out and relight.

ebay is a child of the Internet. Everything is possible.
There are lot of technological gizmos coming on the market so sometimes it is very hard to figure out what is involved till you actually use it.
DSI heater has a computerized circuit board that relights the flame directly and there is no pilot light. This require constant electricity to work.
My understanding is, that the heater on ebay is standard pilot-operated heater with electronic re-lighter added. Meaning the heater itself doesn't need electricity to work, but for re-lighter to work you need to connect it to battery.
If you don't have 12V avaiabe, the matches still supose to work.

Water heater.

A price of $199.95 is far below dealer costs, even in quantity.

Could these be warranty rebuilt's?

Do they come with a door?

It says it is brand new. And how much would doors be if it did not come with one?
I am sure far less than $200

It looks like he has only two of these - really doubt the door is included - they are $21.00 for the 6 gallon model elsewhere.

My guess is they are left over and he's just trying to dump them out of inventory. This is where we bought our 10 gallon - may give you something to compare with. The "free" delivery was a nice feature and they include the door.
