Water heater blowing fuses

First a chain of events.
I drained my water heater to put a new drain plug in. Filled it up and went in to turn it on. It is a gas only Atwood 6 gallon. Flip the power switch and heard a pop. Checked the inside fuse board and a 20 amp fuse was blown. Swapped it out and it blew again when I turned the switch on. I have checked all the connections on the heater and the 2 amp fuse on the control board. Everything looks ok. Any suggestions?

No idea. But when you drained the heater, could you have inadvertently disconnected some of the wires in the hot water heater box outside the trailer? Maybe bumped in to them and crossed one or two of them?

That was the first thing I checked. All are secure.

Problem solved. On another site it was suggested that I pull all the wires and use a hair dryer on the connections. Did that and low and behold I have hot water.
