water heater blowers

What, specifically, is the purpose of the water heater blower in my '73 Overlander? My '72 Argosy 20' and '75 Argosy 24' do not have this. Why??

Thanks,

Thanks,
Is this a small blower that runs near the water heater? Or is it an external fan to help vent the heat? Pictures would help.

Aaron

this sounds like the rear heater (not furnace) in my MH. Does it look like the item on the left in these photos?

not really. looks more like a blower you would on a boat. But, it is near the water heater.

My '74 has a small toggle switch on the wall beside the toilet, which actuates a fan that sounds like you are describing. The fan is in the same cabinet as the water heater, and exhausts through a pipe into the floor.

For lack of a better name, I would call it a fart fan.

I think your describing an "exhaust fan" that tries to remove those sometimes unpleasant odors when someone is on the "john".

You know, some of those human things.

It's a bilge vent fan, JABSCO is the manufacturer.
