I took the advice and bought a Camco inline. It seems to work great but no discernible difference. I'm not tasting water without it though so maybe it's working really well. When they say that it "lasts one season" though, mine did not. I used it for six months and when I tried to use it the next time, water wouldn't flow through it and had to replace. No clue why...? Maybe a "season" is literally just 3 months.

On the inlines assume once they are done the flow pretty much stops or is it a gradual decline?

Mine was a slight slow down but then completely off. I did not cap off the ends of it though while not in use so maybe that's where I went wrong.
