Talk me out of using my Bowen water heater in a Bambi!
I just got my Bowen water heater out of my 1961 Bambi and I am longing to put it back in. I pulled the kitchen cabinets and it was a realatively easy removal. I want to maintain the Bambi heater shroud. I have seen the post where a shroud attached to a door, but wow, does that look like work! Once again, talk me out of it and I will put a boring door on my original Bambi. Thoughts?
Times change. The '63 Bambi I owned had a huge ugly old water heater (original) with a strange exterior shroud which was overkill for the unit. It worked, so I left it intact but had I needed a new one, it would have gone in a heartbeat. If your Bambi is a museum restoration that is one thing, if it is for camping and use, don't hesitate to change it out.
