Suburban Hot Water Heater

Just bought a new 10 gallon hwh and it is smaller than the original. Does anybody know if there is a an insert made to take up the extra space from the larger hot water heater opening. If not any suggestions?

as far as I know there is no readily available insert. Can you return the suburban? An atwood 10 gallon will fit right in. I replaced mine in my 73 with an Atwood 10 gallon DSI gas and electric version. I needed no modifications to the shell to install it.

I had an old Atwood in my Trade Wind and it had a 2 piece shroud around the opening that was quit large. Replaced it with Atwood DS 10 gallon. I had to fab a filler piece for the sides and top edges from aluminum to cover the hole. Got the aluminum from Aircraft Spruce to match trailer skin. I used Olympic rivets and spaced them to match the factory spacing. I don't really like the look of the new door on the water heater, but I had no choice as the old heater was bad.
