Strange hot water problem

this is very strange, we never use our water heater but since we are staying in one place for 2 months thought we would try it. water is hot but when we turn on the tap water will come out hot for a few seconds then get cold again this will happen wether i turn it to hot or cold, thought it might be the tap but happening on kitchen and bathroom faucets????

Have you checked your w.h. bypass? Dave

I agree with Dave. Check and make sure your water heater bypass valve is closed.

I had a similar problem in my Sovereign and found out my bypass valve was faulty and never fully closed in the closed position.
