Shurflo Pump Problem.

I notice when the pump gets turned on, blackish colored water comes out for a short time and then clears. Any one have a clue? The pump is prolly 10+ years old. Thanks, M

Do I buy a fresh pump from you or are parts a option? Thanks Andy.

We only have the complete pumps.

I understand that repair kits are available, but have no idea from where.

I'd figured on a fresh pump, I'll call in a order next week. Thanks again.

Sir? On second thought Dewey, Cheatham & Howe truck salvage will be my recommendation if you don't cut that out...

You can buy a replacement pump head. Try to order it online. Making a repair is as simple as unscrewing the pump head from the motor and replacing it with the new one.
Sometimes, corrosion will make it impossible to take the pump apart. You might try to take the pump head off before ordering a new part.
Unless you have used it lightly, after ten years of use the pump motor could fail at any time. I would install a new pump and consdier rebuilding to old one to carry as a backup.

I just noticed with the pump off and on to potable, I still get the blackwater. Am I still pumping though the circuit and the wear is still happening? Odd that it quits in a few seconds.

Is it happening at every valve (hot and cold), sinks, shower and toilet. It might be a hose that is breaking down if you have a home made patch somewhere.

No patch I know about; news at eleven. I'm thinking if I took on some skanky water somewhere,I'd have pumped it out by now. The fact that it's the same black on cold or hot makes me wonder.
