Question Securing Waterheater Cover

Due to a failure of the lower hinges on the door/flap/cover thing that goes on the outside to cover the waterheater access, I have to find a way to secure it better than the original way. The two unusual clips that hold the door at the bottom came loose and the only thing holding it was the top clip. The cover bent in two. I have fixed the cover and plan to paint it soon, but would really like to not repeat the process. Is there a better hinge? or better way of securing it at the bottom?
thanks, bill b.

You can check out the selection of cabinet hinges at your local home improvement store, ,you may find a pair suitable for your needs. I had an issue with mine, somebody stole the hinges while the coach was stored. A kit including the hinges, camlock, and mounting brackets was only about $8.00 at my local RV dealer.
