Just an update since January. Our first replacement board was refunded by our dealership. It was just like the original (Zhendong?). It failed shortly after installing it. Our second replacement board was sent directly from Airstream in January. We dealt with Chris Birch. This board was different than the original. At first it looked like it wouldn't fit, but it did. We have had no issues with this board so far. It takes about 10 seconds for it to ignite. Airstream is well aware of the original board issues and has been equally frustrated. We had good support from our dealer and Airstream.

Got to our site, fired up the water heater so wife could do dishes after dinner. Sounded a little odd but figured it was the altitude. Shut it off, went to bed. Next morning noticed really bad soot on the side of the trailer. Found a spider web in the tube, cleaned it and was working fine. Next morning, nothing. Not even trying to ignite after gas valve opens.

Not even going to mess around with a factory replacement. Thanks to all before me, I just ordered the dino board. It sucks to spend 125 dollars on a new trailer, but not nearly as much as it stinks to have no hot water.

I used to camp in tents and freeze my butt off, I'm so bougie now!

Order one for your refrigerator also it’s the next in-line to fail.

I looked at ordering the Dragon board and Amazon shows I have to order the board plus case and interior piece. Is it available as a unit without the erector set process? Lol
Board number 4 to include original stopped heating with electric this past weekend. All had been replaced by AS ... not faulting AS as they are the end user.

I also went through 2 replacement Atwood boards before getting the dinosaur. That was 8 years ago. No hiccups since. No, you have to buy the pieces, as there are different combinations of bits for different wh models.
Still have original fridge boards though!

Install the dino

After 2 failures on this crap board I want to order the UIB 64 like you did but how to install? 2019 22 and the board has a 6 pin (only four wires) and the igniter connector. The Dino says it plugs into a 4 and a 6 pin. Need to modify some things if OEM board is just 6 pin. How did you get yours done?

pls post this in the forum
the answer is in the dino manual. no mods are needed. its fully plug and play

Not sure

The instructions on line say it plugs directly when you have a WH with a 4 and a 6 pin. The 2019 22 is just a 6 pin so you have to modify the wires? Have a call into Dino

Good start calling Dino. They sent me a conversion 4/6 elbow. But I had to call them. Some Atwood boards were 6 and some 4. Think it had to do with if the water heater was LP only or LP/AC.

Ok. Save your receipt/invoice. Call the Mothership. Ask for customer service. I used Mike Varno. They eventually sent me a check to cover the Dino. But they won’t if you don’t straight up ask for reimbursement. Airstream knows the Atwood striker board is poor quality.

UIB 64 install on 2019 22

After 2nd board failure in first two trips I purchased a Dino UIB-64. Was concerned about doing myself so read forms, UIB 64 instructions online and talked to Chis at Dino. Was easy and is working. Few things:

The link in the forums for this product goes to manufacturer but they don’t sell directly, the site has retailers and I ordered online from Panther RV

Ordered the mount as well for $25 only to see that the board comes with it. Save your money on this part

The board comes ready to plug in but read instructions about the jumpers, for water heater you need to move mode jumper from pin 1&2 to 2&3. The fire jumper stays where it is

My OEM board is a 6 pin (but only 4 wires) and it plugs into the 6 pin on the Dino board. It is next to a 4 pin that is not used

The igniter male connector on the board points to the side but the plastic cover has a tape covered hole that seemed the way to plug in wire with its protective cover. So I bent tab that direction and plugged in. Seemed to stick out too much and there was rectangular slot on same side as larger access for 6 pin wires so I moved back there. Rethink either would work

There are four small nuts for the mounting plate bolts (put plastic cover on first then the nuts on). Can’t start the nuts with fingers, no room, so used small socket and put nut in it and then on the bolts.

Turned on WH switch and it worked right away. I had read that there is a delay but only had that once.

Last concern was after 15 minutes it was still heating so I turned off. This morning tested again (fired for 4 seconds then off, then less than 1 min went on) and then waited 20 min and still on. Called Chris (he answered directly!, great help) and he said sounds like maybe bad thermostat. Before calling Dometic I waited, turned back on (ignited right away) and shut down after running some, as it is supposed to do

Success
