safe to open window above wh?

There's one of those great awing-type windows located above the vent for my new propane water heater (this was the original arrangement). Is there a danger of fumes/exhaust coming in if I keep the window open while the heater is burning? What is the gas that is exhausted?

On our 75 the water heater is located below the kitchen window. We close the window when we fire it up to keep the smell out of the trailer.

Yes, you can. I would advise:
1- Open that window when the wind is blowing away from that side of your coach.
2- Buy a Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector, so you will know if exhaust starts accumulating in your coach.
This is unlikely if you have all the windows open, but it won't hurt, and it can come in handy if you have a previously unknown exhaust leak in another LP-powered appliance.
