Ruudglas Pacemaker electric waterheater help wanted !

Hi everybody,
We need some help here: in our 1963 safari we found this electric waterheater installed(see picture), of course the manual is not there... and being in Europe, not much chance that anyone can help us with this one...so:
1 How can we check if this unit is still usable ?
2 Is this a good waterheater ?worth fixing ?
3 If there is a download manual for it, we would be happy to be informed of course.
4 it is a 10 gallon 120 volts ac only unit, it is too dark to read the modelno.

Would it help to know it is not the original water heater?

In 1963, the trailers all came with gas (LP) water heaters, mostly 10 gallon Bowens. If it's one of the trailers you are going to have permanently parked in your facility, you could probably put a water heater in a small outbuilding next to the trailer, and pipe the hot water inside. It would free up more space inside, and you could run separate electric to it, preserving more power for the guests to use for their electrically-powered things.

Well, we thought it was newer, but how and what and why we do not know, and if this is a special unit to be used in a trailer? we don't know, but if it can be fixed it is better for our restoring budget.. and we are planning to go travel with it, so we would like to have hot water available

This is not a special unit for a trailer. This type of water heater is mostly used light duty home use. At only 120 VAC the time it takes to heat water will be slow.

I see, do you know if they were/ are good quality apart from the time it will take to heat up?
Do you have a suggestion for alternatives considering we are on a tight budget?

Hard to say without a name and a model number and it has an unknown history. On a tight budget you just need to do the best you can with what you have available. Good luck!
