Reason the WH is on the RS

I would like to move my water heater to the CS compartment location and move the compartmenet door to the RS Water heater location. Is there a reason why the water heater is on the RS of my overlander?

I know it's not proper to "answer a question with a question, but "Why do you want to move it?" It may be on that side to balance the weight, or to be more efficient in pipe runs to get the hot water where it's needed. Remember to calculate re-routing the gas piping (and DC if you have an electric igniter) into your decision.
I'm not familiar with your floor plan...but I'm sure others will respond with greater detail.

My AS is completely striped so the location of the plumbing is irrelevant.

My Rear trunk doors frame is shot so I am planing to just cover it with alclad.I would like to use the CS door as a place to have the power and water hookups on the RS.

One thing to think about is how you normally set up camp. I had a 19' CCD that had the WH on the Curb side. Didn't think of it much until I was at a campsite for more than a weekend, had the awning and camp chairs out, and reailized that before I ever turn on the WH, I needed to make sure that no chair or other combustables was in front of the WH.


I had a close call once, had the back of the chair right against the WH, and then went in for the nite. Got up the next morning and fired up the WH, and looked out the window and realized I needed to move the chair.

But, with your 27 footer, this may not be an issue.
