Overpressure leaks from water pump
I have a 2013 25FB FC with the original Shurflo variable speed pump. The pump has worked fine until the middle of our last trip.
When we first set up at our new campground, we turned on the pump and ran water at the kitchen sink. The pump ran like normal, but didn't shut off like normal when we closed the faucet. The pump slowed down but kept pulsing. We cycled the pump and ran the water a few more times and got the same result.
We turned off the pump and looked around. We found water discharging from the water heater relief valve, and dripping from the body in front of the wheel well streetside. Further investigation found water on the floor under the closet. There are a bunch of pipes, elbows, etc. in this area and we could not identify the one that was leaking.
The next day we ran a hose to a campground spigot and turned on city water. No leaks. Then we disconnected city water and tried the pump. It worked fine. No leaks.
So is this a "normal" failure mode? Should I immediately replace my pump, or was this just a random thing that won't happen again? Should I put in a pressure relief valve (dumping to the ground) as protection for when it happens again?
Bonus question: How the heck do I access the mess of plumbing at the back of the area under the closet on the day that something back there needs to get fixed? The closet floor is screwed in from underneath, I don't think I can get the farthest screws out. And it also seems to be glued.
