old water heater 71 airstream available to a good home
Replaced my water heater recently. Old pilot would not stay lit. Have most of the old unit available for parts or or restoration (missing springclips for door and exaust diffuser) . Believe it is the original. Tank did not leak last time we used it. Let mem know if anyone interested otherwise to the dump shortly.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I am most interested in the outside cover. Is it original and intact? Is it the embossed vertical lined aluminum "backing plate" with kind of a folded over "corrugated" cover?
Thanks,
Bill
I am new to a/s and the forum. Just got a 73 international 29' and everything leaks ,including the water heater. It is the Bowen G10B and the burner and controls work but the tank leaks.I have replaced most freeze damaged copper tubing with PEX and crimp conections but need a hot water
heater. I am in Ozona, (West Texas) and could use a hot shower.
It is all original...I think. no corrigated material that I can see. Exterior is smooth sheetmetel. Either aluminum or galvanized as it doesn't look rusty. Tank did not leak last time we used it before the pilot quit working. Was a pretty easy job to swapout to new model except the pain of removing the trim belt and having to modify to re-use the old stainless door.
