No gas going to 16 Sport water heater

My Sport is a new 2018 with zero trips logged. I'm familiarizing myself with all the systems and backyard camping for now. I have gas flowing to the stove and have water in the water heater. When I hit the electronic ignition I can see the igniter firing but there is no gas present in the combustion chamber to ignite.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Steve

Steve - does the red light next to the water heater on/off switch stay on? It is supposed to come on if the heater doesn't ignite. Same thing for the red "check" light on the refrigerator when running on propane.

Before jumping to board replacement check the thermal cutoff. They do go bad. You will see it plugged into the board. It’s a diode (I think) inside a plastic tube bent at a 90 angle. Disconnect both wires to the diode and put them together thus bypassing the diode. A blade fuse works great to connect the two wires.
If it starts tthe that’s your problem and a cheap fix.

Well I bypassed the the diode and still the gas valve isn’t opening. I suppose the board is bad. It would have been nice for the dealer to actually test everything before I drove off with it. They had a full week before delivery. I can tell this thing has never been lit.

Too bad. Hopefully if you call them they will reimburse you for a board without a trip to the dealer. If your in a rush just order the board from Dinasouar and eat the 100 bucks.

Thank you for your help! I will call airstream and see what they will do. My dealer is 5 hours away and I don’t trust them anyway sadly.

Well, Airstream sent me a new OEM board and it doesn't work either! I assume this will be a long drawn out problem with them sending more faulty boards to me to test rather than sending me a tested board or a Dinosaur board as I requested.
