New Water Heater for 2006 25' International CCD

AZ AL here, looking for advice on the best water heater for the 2006 25' International CCD. Mine is tired (very tired) and needs to be replaced. Not sure the best water heater to get.

I'm amazed that an '06 could need a heater already. What happened to yours?

Is it the original one?

I just replaced my 36 year old Bowen with what is really the same one, but now branded Atwood. I figured that if the old one lasted 36 years, why wouldn't another one of the same type...?

2006 25' International CCD - Water Heater

Aage, it is a long sad story...

I bought the CCD used and the previous owner must have run the water heater 24/7. It has no controls on it...0, and it will not keep the water hot, and O yeah it leaks a bit. It appears to be the original unit but it has no branding on it...can't find a name anywhere.

I need a new good one.

Thanks...AZ AL

Wow, incredible. Well, post a photo, but IIRC, they're all Atwoods these days.

I mean, to my knowledge, there's only Atwood and one other company (whose name escapes me at the moment) that makes them, and the other company's products orient the tank into the TT, and so would require big changes to mount...

Hi, I'm shocked that you need a new water heater already unless it was freeze damaged. I would, if I were you, order the same thing, but with the 120 volt option.

New News

All, it turns out that the newer Airstreams do not have temperature controls on the water heater as they are electronically controlled, you can control the water temperature somewhat by using a mixing valve that is on the side of the water heater accessable on my CCD via the side storage compartment. Mine was wide open allowing the cold water to mix with the hot and cool it down too much. My leak was a loose drain plug. All is well with Al...Arizona Al
