Looking for ideas hot water

I've been trying to design an idea to NOT waste any water till the hot water comes out of the kitchen faucet. In my other life as a contractor, there would be a seperate copper line plumbed from the water heater to the most distant use from the water heater. All day and nite the hot water would continue to circulate in the hot water system as cavitation. The last hot faucet was the same temp as the water heater. On several RVs, I have used a seperate pump to move water at the most distant faucet to the potable white water holding tank. In an Airstream there is not an easy way to route the piping. Any ideas?? Waiting for hot water for any task is a waste of water. Frank

But then the water heater comes on more often. By calculation, 15 feet of 1/2 inch tubing contains 11.5 ounces of water, which is not quite 1 and 1/2 cups of water. I agree, that, so to speak, it's a waste, but so is running the water heater needlessly. Same old story, "nothing is free." Trade offs are a way of life. A matter of personal preference. Andy

Would pipe insulation and hot water tank insulation help much? And is the extra time and cost worth the return in savings of water? Consideration of use (full time vs part time camping) has to play in the factor of "waste". If you just use your silver bullet part time the recapture of expenses (wasted water) would not occur for years.

However if you are just tinkering and are up for a challenge then I say go for it. And that looks like doing a job and it doesn't look good,(not an option on an airstream) or dissassembling the interior, or installing an instant hot faucet at the sink.

A post script to that would be to move to AZ. The water is always hot in the summer!
