Question Leak in hot water heater tank

The tank in my '60 Overlander is leaking badly from the bottom. It's under the portside twin bed. How do I get this critter out to check it?
If it cannot be repaired, is a suitable replacement available (gas powered)?
Thanks in advance for any help.

We have replacement water heater "kits," which have the water heater, a proper size metal plate, Olympic rivets and vulkem sealer.
Call us at 800-8777311.

Thumbs up

Thanks Andy, I'll give you a call but how do I get this bird out of it's nest? I can't see the mounting bolts.

Reference "call me." Airstream owners are very famous for altering their coaches with everything from the "wow" terrific, to absolute bazaar. Most of the time safety considerations are of a great concern to some owners, but for some others, it's not a subject for consideration.
When it comes to the "almighty" dollar, for some people, it's amazing how fast a safety issue is bypassed, because it would cost more. And then there are those that like to live on the edge, sometimes even leaning way over it.
It becomes very difficult to give helpful well meaning suggestions without knowing exactly the equipent that they have.
Attorneys love to make live difficult for any company that dares giving advice "while assuming" what a customer or owner has.
It is in that context, that with our limited time, we can find out more of what the owner has, and, give helpful suggestions faster, on the telephone than typing the same information.
Granted, that doesn't help someone else.
Perhaps this is one of the reasons that other companies don't frequent sites such as this.
We wish to continue to help others as we have freely done for the last 36 years, but must limit the time that we can expend doing so.
Slamming an individual is not permitted, but negative comments about dealers are.
People make mistakes and so do dealers. Attacking an individual for a mistake is also not allowed, but it is allowed for a dealer.
Whats the incentive?
Perhaps I and/or Inland RV Center, should answer questions on it's own web site, which would only help that individual and no others.
If a dealer or it's owner frequently participates answering questions, which takes time, which is money, then they should, somehow, within reason, have the ability to make it known that they have a web site and/or parts that are available from them.
Any Airstream dealer can participate, if they wished, but they choose not to because of the liability and criticism.
Again, what's the incentive?

Smile np Andy

Now that I have learned how to remove the heater for inspection, I see that the tank is ruptured and the entire unit must be replaced. I now understand that there are no mounting bolts and that the heater slides out thru the side. TY for your respose and I await your call so that I can order and install your kit. It is regrettable that simple inquiries sometimes get blown out of proportion but life is a constant learning process..

I fell everyone should really think about Parts Andy's presence on this board. He owns a business and has years of experience. Andy gives out his advice freely; he can't force anyone here to purchase goods and services from him. I live in New Orleans I doubt that Andy even thinks my coach will ever make it to his shop. I participate in many groups and boards with many topics, ham radio, English sports cars, sailboats and many others. I can't think of another group which has an owner of a business who services those interests who is participating in the group with such a high profile as Andy. Most owners of that business keep a very low profile and stay in the background. Andy is willing to stick his neck way out their, if I get a bad part or poor service form Inland I can take a shot right at Andy here and he can't do a thing about it. I would say he is very confident in the quality and knowledge of the product he sells and is willing to share it. He is also willing to stand behind what he says and sells.
