Late Model Faucet Filter...

Howdy...

I have a Safari with the LS package which includes the Moen water filter faucet that is just under two years old. The "replace" light just started blinking at me so I dissasembled it to see what all was inside. WOW, the filter is big, way larger than I thought.

So, I was wondering if anyone has replaced thiers, where did you get it? I found it from Moen online, but surely somebody sells these things at home centers or plumbing supplies?

Anyone replaced theirs??

Here's this one at Lowes. Not sure what model you were looking for. Interesting it's about the same size and price as the Everpure used in the older models but just a hair pricier.

Moen®
Moen ChoiceFlo™

My light came on two. I used the filter so in-frequently so I went to the local plumbing supply and ordered some. I found the battery causing the blinking . removed it and threw it away. no more blinking light problem.

We placed ours recently. We had bought a two pack from Moen online. That's the only place that I was able to find them. The unit also has a watch battery in it. We had to replace it before the filter.

sure, about every 9-12 months, supposedly good for 200 gallons of filtering, i use it for coffee water.

depends on the moen model number but a/s carries them at the factory store...

or ya can buy'em on line, for a few $ less...

here and other places...

for 15-20$.

on the classic line, they blink green when in use and until time to replace then go to yellow and red...

the model is a 601? the filter is IN the fixture, shown in the right pic, filter unit is on the left...

here are the installation instructions...

http://www.filtersfast.com/Moen-601-Manual.pdf

the 'choiceflow' model noted above is an UNDER counter filter, similar in design to the old everpure line...

cheers

Does my 2007 Safari LS use the battery? If so, where does it go?

I couldn't find a spot to install the battery so I just saved it for the next time something like a garage door opener needs one.

Thanks!

The Moen filter faucet takes one of those wafer batteries about the size of a nickel. I think it's a CR2032. The battery it located in the faucet head near where the filter hooks on. There's a little slide door that accesses the battery compartment.

I replaced mine and bought a few for spares. They are a bit cheaper at Faucet Depot...
