How many hours to replace water heater..

Does anyone know how many hours it would 'book' to replace the water heater in my '99 Excella? It be leaking...and corroded. Still works on gas, but time to replace is too near. The connections are all good, so I'm guessing pin holes somewhere.

Thanks for the info!

Mine never leaked I just replaced it because of age they have aluminum tanks so I don't think you have a corrosion problem . I did it myself the hardest part was getting the old one out they use a lot of sealer around the flange . I'd say 4-5 hrs. doing it yourself .

I dunno.. if ya tow it over to my house I will be happy to help ya! =)

Sorry, not sure the time it will take.. On ours, tho, we have the single bed and you can remove the 'cover' inside the bedroom and see much more of your target.
Peace and Blessings..

Why not call several RV dealers who do repairs and ask them?

If its been leaking you may have bigger problems as the floor may have dry rot also .

Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best

Replacing water heater in 1981 Excella II

Actually, it took about 2 weeks!
Removal was about an hour, and fortunately I did not have a bad floor.
what took time...

1. treat the floor so that any future problem would be averted.
2. fabricate an aluminum pan to divert any future problem to the outside.
3. redesign the plumbing because Ole81 did not have any way to isolate the ruptured use of the toilet, sink etc was out of the question.
4. replace the gas system with gas/elec (electric is FREE at most campgrounds!!!)
5. design/install new electric circuit breaker, switch to turn power on, etc...
6. learn all about and experiment with new plumbing lines
7. last, but not least....schedule son-in-law with powerful hands to do the clamping in close quarters.

Hope you can get it done quicker...
