Hot water heater "on" indicator ideas?

We have an Attwood 6 gallon hot water heater. It works really well and is quite fast and holds hot water well even when you turn it off. We turn it on as needed and then try to remember to turn it back off. Therein is the problem - remembering that it is on.

We often discover that we left it on by noticing the switch position?

Has anyone found a switch with "on" light in it to replace the factory switch?

I did this with the freshwater pump switch and that is really handy. Looking for a similar solution for the hot water switch.

Thanks in advance for the help and ideas.

I bought a dyno label maker and labelled all the ambiguous switches!! Things like on the hot water switch "light on = bad" and the fridge "5=coldest" I even labeled the other switches as to what is on and off!

I agree that is a good idea and we adopted it a couple of years ago. Somehow, we still need a glowing light to remind us that we turned it on!

Please tell me how to "pick up a ground" for this switch. Thanks.

I picked up the ground from the white wire on the existing indicator light.
