Help! Water leak from fixture on '78 Excella water heater tank

The little outlet that has a cap with a hole in the middle hole pours out water when I turn on the water. See the picture attached. Internal sinks for bathroom and kitchen run fine and no leaks, but gushing water from water heater obviously needs to be stopped... Any idea what i need to do?

Hi there, well the good thing you've done is to flush the water heater.
RV NOW: Flushing the water heater is essential RV maintenance
These older units used a metal plug which I'd continue to use like this one;
Camco Drain Valve
or the cheaper plastic one;
I don't endorse ether of these vendors, just queried the internet

A threaded plug goes into the hole where the water is coming from. It's the drain for the water heater.
