Fresh Water Pump
The plastic part where the hose attaches is broken. Does this mean I have to purchase a whole new pump? I have tried PVC Glue to no avail.

What make and model of pump? Most have head repair kits which can include the housing. I assume the broken piece is the housing.

Is the part threaded in - then take it to Home Depot and by a new fitting. If it's part of the pump body the manufacturer will have a replacement part. If as old as the Argosy model you have then there are replacement pumps that are much better.

If your talking about the clear plastic part that has a screen in it then it is a small cost to replace.
If you are talking about the black plastic head that is part of the pump, I would not spend the time on a repair. When I was working in a service department I had access to all the OEM repair parts and tried many times to repair water pumps. In over the 10 times I tried, I got one to work and it did not pull water like it was suppose to. If your pump has any age on it, and you do replace it, you may be very happy with the improved performance. It is an easy job to replace.

If you can swing it, check out the newer variable-speed type RV water pumps...There are several models out there...Here's the one we used to update our AS....
http://www.amazon.com/Flojet-4-5-Wat.../dp/B000LY4EDE
This type of pump will pump only at the speed required - with one faucet open it pumps slowly, but if another faucet is opened, the pump speeds up to keep pace and give necessary flow to both...

new pump about 70 bucks from Outdoors mart and others. Well worth it. Not sure what plastic part it is, but I went for the new pump.

If your pump is the original PAR (Peters and Russell), you have one of the best pumps on the market (IMHO), and it is rebuildable such that it will last for many years into the future. I carry one of the limited-life modern pumps in my parts box just in case either of my PAR pumps experience a failure and I either don't have the part that it need or the time to repair it while on the road. You likely won't find PAR pump parts at an RV parts outlet . . . they have never been commononly utilized in the industry (other than by Airstream and Avion for a time). A marine or boating store with a good parts department will likely either stock the replacement parts or be able to get them in very short order (my loacl pontoon boat dealer gets PAR pump parts for me). If it is a par, the outlet or inlet fitting should be easy to replace.
Good luck with your investigation!
Kevin
