Everpure Cartridge Head

I have a model QC2-AC water filter. I changed the cartridge out and it dripped water slightly. I am wondering if it might have a o-ring or gasket in the housing. I looked in mine and could not find anything. I f someone could shed some light on how they assemble and if there is a o-ring or gasket, I would surely appreciate it. This is in a 1983 excella.

Tom, I have one too and suspect you're not missing anything. The thing is a bear to get on correctly, but once on it won't leak.

Thanks Pat. It got my dandruff up so badly that I took the darn thing off the mount and put it in my hands so I cold see exactly how it went on. This thing is mounted up under the sink. Very hard to get to.Mine tells you to push the filter up into the filter head then turn to the right until it stops. Then follow up by tightening the ring to the right around the filter. Trouble I got I think is the lug want go on the filter no matter how hard I push and turn. It seems like a simple task. However it is not that easy.

Sometimes the filter is not seated the whole way in the holder, then it makes turning the ring difficult. If that is the problem, I suggest using a very little vasoline or some water on the rubber "o" ring that is on the neck of the cartridge and it might seat into the holder completely.

Good Ideal Bluto I will give that a try. I got the galley faucet apart ,the water pump and the rear drains down for repairs. You know when you start to fix a leak ,oh well you know. This filter is more trouble than I wanted though.

The lube on the O ring is a good idea but, plumbers silicone lube instead of petroleum based vasoline on any form of rubber gasket/O ring/washer.
