Installation is pretty straight forward. When I put one into my '06 CCD, the biggest challenge and the one that took the most time was enlarging the opening, as Atwoods are about 1-3/4" shorter than the Suburban that it is a direct replacement for.

Trimming back the inner and outer skins is not difficult, just requiring some precise measuring. The actual connections are a snap!

Let me know if you need one. Forum Courtesy Discounts apply.

My only question would be how complicated is the installation?

I'll definitely contact you when I'm ready to buy. What do you use for triming the skin? Do you use a reciprocal saw with metal blade or just a pair of aircraft shears?

Actually, no saw at all........just shears and a nifty little gizmo that is a mini anvil cutter that does not distort the metal......no matter how thin. I'll put up a shot of it when I hit the shop in FL, as the little bugger is currently buried in my van with about 800 lbs. of stuff around it, including the motorcycle.

could it be "The original ADEL Nibbling Tool" ?? I use one for precise work, good tool and not that much money. Google it, For long cuts there are any number of pneumatic nibblers, but the Adel works anywhere!

OK Gang,

For all of you impatient souls out there who just can't wait to buy a new tool, here is the nibbler that I use. There is a more expensive model, but the jaws are the same, just fancier handles. Eastwood Company: Auto Tools, Body Repair, Classic Car Restoration, House of Kolor Paint, Powder Coating

Home > Tools & Equipment > Shop Tools > Metal Working Tools

Mini Nibbler

Unique blade and handle design requires less cutting effort than conventional snips. The metal is held firmly by the die while the movable center blade cuts. Starts from a hole as small as 1/4". Jaws are made from heat-treated tool steel and are replaceable in seconds. Cuts up to 16 gauge aluminum, brass, and copper or up to 18 gauge mild steel. Made in France.

One year hassle free warranty.

$29.99

28012 AMini Nibbler Replacement Blades

$19.99
28012 SMini Nibbler Replacement Spring

$2.49

Does anyone have pictures on how the rv 500 looks attached to a Airstream. My Atwood does not look good to me on my coach and was thinking about upgrading. I guess my question is will this rv 500 look better on the Airstream rather then the atwood? Thanks for the help.
