Atwood won't light

I have finally connected the new Atwood water heater, but it won't light. I have the one with electronic ignition. The ignitor sparks but the burner won't light. What do I check. The gas was turned on and the stove, which is right next door works.

Air lock?

Bill let the air bleed out of the gas line before you try to light it. If you are not sure it is getting gas to the burner use bubbles not flame to test!!!! Good Luck, Happy Trails, Ed

Ed,

Tried that, loosened the gas line at the WH until I smelled propane, re-tightened. Spark but no whoosh.

Bill ther is no valve to turn on for a DSI ( direct spark ignition) water heater. The sequence is as follows Turn on switch in trailer. 3 to 5 seconds later a lound clunk should be heard. That will be the gas valve opening. A series of clicks will follow, this is the ignitor trying to light the gas. I repeat do you hear this clunk and can you smell propane while it is trying to light. Do you have a multimeter to test for voltage.

Bill here is a wiring schematic for Atwood water heaters. If you have a multimeter check for voltage at the gas valve during ignition cycle. Do not use a test light because damage to circuit board could occur. Let me know what is happening and I will try to help.
