Atwood Water Heater flames

Turned on the Atwood Water Heater (Model GE9 EXT W/PL) on my 2018 23’ Airstream a couple days ago and yellow flames were coming out of the burner tube air vents, and reaching the thermal cutoff and a couple other wires, so the coating kinda melted a little. So,,, turned it off, and it stopped working all together. I recon I need to replace the thermal cutoff wire and clean out the burner tube, based on my research. Any ideas on how the best way to clean out the burner tube? My first real repair to the water heater. What else may I have to replace?

I bought a $2 small wire brush from Home Depot, shoved it in the 90 degree gas / burner tube from both directions, twisted it around a bunch and voila - good as new! (I had issues firing / lighting after 2 years).

The brush was supposed to be used for cleaning copper pipe before you join it - check the plumbing section.
