Atwood gas valve cost?

Hello All,
Does anyone know how much a gas valve for a Atwood 10 gal. should cost?
I need a new one 'cause I can't get my pilot to stay lit when I turn the gas control off light and to "run".
It is not my thermocouple BTW.

I certainly hope a new one will last longer than the factory one did as it only had a couple of months use on it when it quit working (of course out of warranty).

That's no good and it sure seems like it would last longer than that. I had a cheap catalytic heater that did the same thing. When I tore it apart it was full of a brown oil. Dealer told me it was the scent oil that they use for the propane smell. I just replaced the heater because it was cheaper than repairing, but I would check to see if it was something that had caused the valve to go bad.

Darn! Brown oil in a catalytic?
Those things can't take much of anything in the supply line or they clog up and stop working.
I would think it was your gas suppliers fault for adding too much sulpher (brown oil) to the gas.
It does give me a idea though to check for that in mine.
The thermocouple is putting out the correct amount of current in mine so it might be something else "plugged" up.
I will take it down shortly (since I am most likely going to get a new one anyway).
