Atwood g6A-4E won't start

Just purchased my 1992 34' excella and am trying to get the systems working.

I have an atwood g6a-4e direct ignition water heater. The remote switch light just stays on. I have cleaned up the burner tube and checked and there is gas at the valve intake. what next?
