Atwood G10-2 Gas Flow Misbehavior

Hello everyone.

My Atwood Water Heater (in my 1975 31' Sovereign rear bath) is behaving rather strangely. I couldn't get the pilot to light and noticed no propane was making it out of the pilot, then with some fiddling with the temperature adjustment bar I HEARD GAS! But I didn't know which way I should adjust the temperature bar and pushed it all the way up, which killed the gas flow. And no amount of fiddling since has brought it back. Any ideas??

I am unfamiliar with your model, but perhaps this manual will be helpful:
