I have a new Airstream with the above water heater. Heater makes (made....it's not working anymore) a very slight high pitched whining sound when either of the gas or electric switches are toggled on. The heater did work and produce hot water on both gas and electric....for about an hour. After it had been running for a while, I toggled to gas in the bathroom and went outside to see the pilot and heating flame and as I was observing, the unit shut off. No more whining sound. Thought, OK, may just be up to temp. Waited a while, went inside and tried the electric and gas switches, nothing. I confirmed there is
12V at the heater gas and electric demand connections on the circuit board outside when each switch is in the on position but there is no
12V on any of the output connections on the board. Dead board? I did try unplugging, cleaning all connections as suggested on a label below the circuit board. Seems suspicious that a label is required that indicates things to try before replacing the circuit board. A quick Google also indicated the board has a new PN now also. Anyone had problems with this heater/board? Anything else to try?
It's under warranty but I do not have time to take it in to the dealer - hope to be on the road shortly.
Any suggestions from the experts out there?
