You know, these things are not really that complicated, not such that you couldn't do it yourself. There are also YouTube videos on repairing / replacing practically everything in the world, including RV water heaters. I recently replaced the main control unit in ours, a job that took only 20 minutes or so; only "special" tool needed was a big pair of pliers. (Well, it would have taken only 20 minutes, but I took the opportunity to replace some of the gas lines and to add a gas shut-off valve while working on the water heater anyway.)

Also checked the thermal cut-off on the meter and it seems fine, but picked up some replacements.
If this doesn't work, will look at the burner and orifice. If that doesn't do it, will simply replace it being 10 years old and the price of repairs will most likely be a couple hundred.
