Anode for Atwood??

Should I take out the plastic threaded plug and replace it with an anode rod?.Several people have asked why this 1994 Atwood doesn't have one. Anyone tried this?.......

Hi, Atwood says no. I was going to install a 120 volt kit on mine until I read their site. I believe they said their tanks have a protective coating and an anode rod will destroy it. [or something close to that] Find and read their site.

The inner surface of the Atwood water heaters has a ceramic coating that protects the metal from exposure to water. No anode rod in required.
