We have a Weekender. Are usually able to get 2-3 weeks before regeneration. Regenerate with 1 Qt of water mixed with 1 cup of non-iodized table salt. We have a particle filter, a carbon filter, then the water softener. The whole rig gives very good quality water. It tastes good and there is no smell. Helps with showering in hard water areas. I would recommend it. Easy to stow because of its size.

Rivet Amerisoft - water softener

Hi 2air - long time no see.....or type. We're doing well and hope the same for you. Are you still traveling with Max? (I hesitate to ask since you had him when we met you several years ago. A sweet pal indeed.)

On the water softener - there was a man who sells Amerisoft at the
Morraine View rally a couple of years ago. Many snowbirds where we go have dual filters and/or softeners and hoses and tubes and...... stuff. Really, it's a matter of safe water and protection of the plumbing system. We have a simple in-line filter but I worry about bad bugs in the water if we were to go elsewhere. We have great water as snow birds but since Cupcake is 35 Y/O, again, I also worry about something nasty in the pipes so we fill jugs for drinking, cooking etc. Also, we've never used the shower and that amenity, with nice clean, safe water, may just come in handy one day! The obvious maybe all that is needed is a good sanitizing of the pipes and fresh tank and a filter in the line inside. I suppose testing the water that comes out of the faucets is an option too.

Thank you both for the in-put
Sue
