1959newbie,

I checked out Grover ,their newer version (very much the same ) is
part # 1167 12 volt pump ,it would need a 45 psi cutoff switch ,easy to get.
they didn't show the price ,but J.C.Whitney has the same Grover compressor
is 199 dollars , part # ZX754712W still pretty high ,but cheaper for sure than 400 bucks. I still will be working on a better solution for you .

Back to you soon

Scott

Hello all. I've just rebuilt my Grover pump (no oil -- siezed up -- cleaned, added oil to crankcase) and it works fine except the pressure control won't shut off the pump. It pumps up to 70# and I get nervous and shut it off. I've backed the adjusting nut that sits atop the spring in the switch to the end of the threads. Still runs. I can force the arm with a screwdriver and make the switch shut off the pump.

Could it be the diaphragm? Can they be replaced, or do I have to buy a new pressure switch? The brand of the switch is "Lic" (that's the logo on the switch cover). Google doesn't help me find them. There might be a Square D brand that would work, but which one? Or would a Square D rebuild kit have the diaphragm that I need?
