1969 Airstream Water Heater failed

I am trying to help my friend who has a 1969 Airstream which is her primary residence...I think it is a Safari. The hot water tank is leaking and not working. She needs to replace it and is trying to find a used hot water heater or something affordable. I am thinking something under $300 if possible. Any suggestions?

Thanks for that link. Is there any way to find a used original airstream water heater somewhere online and put it in?

The problem with used ones is, well, she already has a used one.

You might try Colaw RV, they recently updated their website.

On edit, looks like they don't have the used parts section up online yet. You can give them a call, though.

Water heaters and furnaces do not improve with age, as you have already found out with the WH you have.

Why put one in that might start to leak while you are off on your dream vacation? My advice is, don't gamble with an item that has potential to give such negative result.

Aage is on the right track. I also recommend against a used water heater. You would be opening a potential can of worms IMO.
Go new, it's in the price range that you already suggested...
