The only way you can buy that tank direct from Airstream, is to be at their facility. That is an agreement, long standing, that they have with their dealers. Non-compete are the words.
Airstream has never had a water, or holding tank of any kind or description that costs even half the amount you quoted.
You will have to purchase that tank from a dealer, that can have it shipped to you from Ohio, or from a dealer who can order that tank along with their large stock order, that minimizes the freight costs.
I doubt that your insurance will cover that tank, since long term damages are always specifically excluded. Sudden, accidental and direct damages, are always covered, such as from an accident. Damages that take time to happen, again, are always excluded.
Andy
