There is no float. There is a series of sensors in the side of the tank at various heights. These often become covered with stuff from inside the tank. putting a bag of ice in the tank and driving around will often clean the sensors off.

In addition to the bag of ice, maybe a cup of liquid laundry detergent in the tank will loosen the really stubborn "stuff" when you tow your trailer around.

also check the wires in the rear compartment, there could be a short there. the wires should go into the tank pan close to where you pull your drain valve inside the storage area. Also might open up the clock/thermometer section of the control panel (one screw and it should pivot down) and check to make sure the "full" bulb isn't burned out.

Thanks for your replies. The bulb is good, I will try to test the wires. The AS is static so I can't drive it around, I will try to fill the tank and add a gallon of lye....it should eat away any organic material.

i don't think lye is a good idea. warm water, soap and time work wonders.
