valves wont close

My '76 Sovereigns valves to open/close the black and grey water tanks do not seem to close 100%. When they are pushed all the way in - I still get an amount of waste water backed up behind the cap.
Is there a way to adjust these T-handle valves to make them close all the way?

Drain valve lubricant

I had that problem with my black tank valve. Thetford makes a drain valve lubricant that I put in and now it works fine. Empty your tanks. Put the amount on the label of the lube in the tank, add water and let it sit a couple of days.
It should free it up and close.
Good luck and hope that helps,

I had that problem. Reach in with a wire with a small right angle at the end and clean out the groove the end of the gate valve slides into.
Sail on silver girl. Sail on by. Your time has come to shine.
