valterra discharge?

I have my dump valves out right now & am waiting for new Thetford ones to arrive. I am wondering if I can make the end of the discharge pipe into a Valterra style instead of a Thetford style. I had to use an adapter on my Flush King & don't know if/where I can purchase an end to a discharge pipe.

Also, what kind of adhesive is used for putting in new dump valves? The stuff that was in there originally was still soft enough for me to pry the valve that was attached to the tank off in one piece. Is Vulkem too tuff? Would plumbers putty be a better choice? I want to be able to get it off if I need to some day!

Thank you, thank you!

Valterra makes an adapter to go from Thetford to Valterra. They call in a "Universal Adapter".

But since I'm putting in new pipe, isn't there a Valterra end I can put on rather than putting an adapter on a Thetford end?

I guess that depends on your Thetford dump valves. What is the discharge end like? Valterra makes a lot of fittings. I have my Valterra adapter permanently glued on my Thetford fitting. But there is a good chance you can do the Valterra fitting by itself.

Currently, I have all the pipes out from the grey & black tanks. I will need to replace them when I put the new Thetford dump valves in, since some of the parts are permanently glued to some of the pipes. So, I have no end on the pipe. I don't even have the new plumbing yet. That's what I mean. I have to put some kind of end on the pipe & rather than putting a Thetford bayonet on it & then a Valterra fitting, I'm wondering if Valterra makes an end bayonet that can be directly glued to the discharge pipe. I can't seem to find one.

With the dimensions of the discharge tube in hand contact Valterra and tell them what you want to do. They are user friendly.

Yes, I did. Here's the link:

<LI class="item "> Valterra Products, Inc. T1029-2 Termination Adapter
It fits right on the end of a 3" tube. Have a good time with the plumbing!

Thumbs up Valterra Discharge

Right Becky, I sawed mine off yesterday and replaced it with the Valterra end so I could use my clear hose end and Flo-Jet Poop Pump with standard ends. I primed the pipe with Purple Primer and used the Glue for Plastic pipe to attach it. Hardest part was sawing off the Thetford end at the sewer terminus. After that, it was a snap! Don't for get you have to change all sewer connections if you put the Valterra end on the terminus.
